NNPC Shell Centre of Excellence, UniBen, invites applications for 2019/2020 Academic Cycle.
The Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited (SPDC) Joint Venture-supported Centre of Excellence in Geosciences and Petroleum Engineering at the University of
Benin, Benin City, has invited applications for admission into its 2019/2020 academic programme.
Commissioned in 2012, the Centre is now in its 6th cycle and welcomes applications from qualified candidates into its specialised Masters’ degree programmes. The programmes are in:
Integrated Petroleum Engineering & Production Studies
Integrated Petroleum Exploration & Evaluation Studies (Geology or Geophysics)
Candidates that qualify for the UniBen CoE programmes are required to have achieved a minimum of 4.0/5.0 CGPA in an accredited programme in Engineering or the Physical Sciences.
Courses are taught by subject matter experts, including volunteers from SPDC and students at the Centre can compete for a 6-month paid Internship programme with SPDC, where they are mentored and supported by staff to carry out value-adding research.
The SPDC JV funds the Centre by an annual subvention to enable it’s smooth running. The Centre has recorded 100% employment for graduates of its first cycle and continues to challenge employment records for other similar programmes around the country.
